Important Prom Information
Attending Prom? If so, please read the information below.
Prom at LDH is a school sanctioned event which means that students and their guests are expected to adhere to the OCDSB Code of Conduct.
Pre-Prom Reception (Outdoors)
There is a pre-Prom reception from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Orchard View Wedding and Event Centre. LDH grads, their guests and family members are welcome to attend. This is a great opportunity to take photos!
Checking In and General Behaviour
- Attendees will be checked in from 5:50 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.
- Guests of LDH grads will be required to show photo identification when checking in to verify their identity. Acceptable forms of identification include: a driver’s licence, a health card or a student card from a high school or post-secondary institution.
- All attendees of Prom (LDH grads and their guests) will have their bags, purses and pockets checked before entering the hall for dinner.
- Any attendee who arrives at Prom under the influence of drugs or alcohol will have their ticket revoked and will not be permitted to enter the event. No reimbursement for the ticket or any other costs will be given.
- Any attendee who is found possessing or consuming alcohol or drugs on or near the premises will be removed from the event and their ticket will be revoked. No reimbursement for the ticket or any other costs will be given.
- Vaping and smoking are not permitted.
- Should an attendee be directed to leave the premises for any reason, a parent/guardian will be contacted.
Name Cards on Tables
- These are ONLY for students with Dietary Restrictions and Food Allergies
- Students who filled out the Google Form indicating that they had dietary restrictions and/or food allergies will have a name card on the table so that staff at Orchard View can easily identify those who have modifications to their meals.
- DO NOT sit down at a place setting if there is a name card unless of course that name card has your name on it.
Etiquette during the meal and during the awards ceremony
You are asked to remain seated at your table during the first two courses (obviously you can get up for a washroom break or to collect an award). It is extremely difficult to properly serve 335 people if large numbers are missing from the table. There will be a 20 minute break between the main course and dessert. This is the perfect time to chat with friends and get some great photos! You are free to move around the venue as soon as dessert and the awards ceremony are done.
The Prom Awards are meant to be a fun way of celebrating your peers. Please be respectful of both nominees and winners. Being a sore loser or booing others because your friends didn’t win is a sign of poor sportsmanship and does not reflect well on your character.
Wishing you a safe, fun and memorable evening!

There will be a free digital download provided, the code for that will be found in the envelope of information the students receive after they cross the stage. Only the graduating student should be in these photos. There will be opportunities for more candid pictures during the reception between the ceremonies.
