LDH theatre is proud to present "Elephant/Man" April 24-26

LDH theatre is proud to present "Elephant/Man" by Del Martin April 24, 25 and 26 at 7PM and April 26 at 2PM. You are cordially invited to come watch our play and celebrate LDH students for their achievements. This play follows Joseph Merrick as he travels through life being watched, laughed at and completely misunderstood by everyone else in his life. He is relegated to the corners of society in dark workhouses and inhumane exhibits of curiosities. But what happens when he encounters just a little bit of kindness, a curiosity that comes from a place of learning and acceptance rather than humiliation and provocation? We explore the questions of what is beauty, who gets to set these arbitrary standards and what happens to those of us who do not meet said standards? Are you the next target of said oppression and discrimination?
“The Elephant/Man” portrays non-violent/natural death on stage and content that may not be suitable for all young people. Content warnings will be published via our social media prior to the show.
