
Nominations to become the valedictorian of the class of 2021 will be accepted from Tuesday, May 25 - Tuesday, June 1. Students can self- nominate by completing and submitting the following form:

The Valedictorian of 2021 must:
1. demonstrate an ability to balance academic success and extra-curricular interests
2. demonstrate leadership in various aspects of school life throughout your school career.
3. have the respect of both the staff and your peers.
4. be a positive role model for all students.
5. be able to represent the ENTIRE graduating class.
6. have superior communication skills
The criteria to become the valedictorian includes:
- must have a 70% average or over in top six classes in their last year
- must have been involved in school activities (extra-curriculars, clubs, etc.) and demonstrated some leadership
- must have three teacher recommendations
A committee will review the nominations in terms of their ability to meet the criteria. Once the nominations have been verified, successful candidates will be placed on a ballot and grads will have the opportunity to vote on Thursday, June 3 and Friday, June 4.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a staff mentor of their choosing and tape the valedictorian address for the virtual commencement.
