LDH is ready to launch the 2021/22 Course Selection Process. Suffice to say, this year has brought many changes, and there are still some unknowns for next year. With this in mind, we have posted a course selection resource guide for each incoming grade on the LDHSS Student Services website. There, you will find everything you need to research your options for next year and beyond, as well as instructions for using Xello which is our new courses selection software. The Ottawa Carleton District School Board has sent an information letter that states students can select courses as of today (Feb. 24). We would like our students to have all the relevant information before they select their courses, so we will be opening up course selection on Tuesday, March 2. All students will have equal access to all courses for the next school year.
Students and families will have the option to indicate whether they would like to learn online next year, by clicking on the online learning button in Xello. This is neither a commitment, or a guarantee that a student will be learning online next year. This information will help inform the OCDSB in planning an online model that best supports the needs of students.
Timelines for the process for both secondary and intermediate students are as follows:
March 1 @ 9am - Quick virtual guidance presentation to Cohort B
March 2 @ 9am - Quick virtual guidance presentation to Cohort A
March 2 @ 3pm - Xello Submit Button goes live
March 9 @ 11:30am-12:30pm, 2-3pm, 3:30-4:30pm - Virtual Q&A Drop Ins (links posted on website)
March 17 @ 9am - Course Selection Deadline
As always, our Guidance Team is available for individual appointments. You can use the "Book Now" buttons on the LDHSS Student Services website to pick a time that works for you.
